SPOKANE, Wash. — Thousands of protesters gathered at Clark Park Saturday for No Kings Day demonstrations against the Trump administration.
The protest joined similar events across the country. Many participants responded to the Trump administration sending National Guard troops to Democratic cities and ICE arrests.
For hours, cars honked and people chanted along Division Street and Clark Park. Officers estimated thousands attended the peaceful demonstration.
"I'm tired of the way it's going in. This country is going downhill and we got to turn it around. This is a great way to do it," said David Hannon, a Vietnam War veteran.
Rachel Brubaker said she attended because "what's happening now is so wrong. Just so profoundly immoral and wrong."
Organizers spoke from the center of the park
