CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — Thousands gathered at The Shops at Stonefield on Saturday afternoon as part of a nationwide “No Kings Day” protest, aimed at denouncing what organizers describe as a growing threat to democratic principles under the Trump administration.

Protesters said the event was meant to send a clear message: democracy, not any one individual, should govern the country.
