It’s a new era for Penn State football , and it begins at 7:08 p.m. Saturday in Iowa City.

The Nittany Lions (3-3) will take on Iowa (4-2) on Peacock from Kinnick Stadium.

Led by interim head coach Terry Smith after James Franklin’s firing, Penn State is a slight underdog on the road.

The Lions will also roll out first-time starting quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer with Drew Allar out for the season. Grunkemeyer was efficient in limited garbage time reps to start this season but has just five brief appearances in his career.

The redshirt freshman will have his work cut out for him against Iowa, which boasts the nation’s eighth-best scoring defense entering play.
