GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — On Saturday, following the "No Kings" protest, which took place on Main and Spruce streets from noon to 2:30 p.m., the Grand Junction Police Department (GJPD) released a statement about the event.

The GJPD "was aware of the planned 'No Kings' protest and, as with all public events, worked closely with organizers to help ensure participants could safely and peacefully exercise their rights."

Officers were present at the scene to respond to any safety concerns and assist with traffic control. In the downtown area, traffic was minimally impacted for a short time.

The Grand Junction Fire Department responded to two medical calls.

There were no reported incidents of violence or arrests in connection with the protest.
