GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — On Saturday, a second round of No Kings Day protests was held across the United States, including in Grand Junction.

Thousands of Mesa County residents gathered at the Mesa County Justice Center to defend democracy and reject what national organizers call authoritarianism in the White House.

"We've got a lot of things to complain about and to do something about," said Sarah Jean Tracy, a protester at the event.

Organizer Mallory Martin with Indivisible Grand Junction says they weren't sure what to expect from the protest.

"There has been a hard push throughout the government, throughout the Republicans, to really paint the protesters in a bad light. We're talking about them saying that we are traitors to our country, that we are antifa, that we are evil…
