(KFVS) - The Murray State Racers and No. 12 Southern Illinois Salukis both lost home football games to Missouri Valley Football Conference foes on Saturday.

In Carbondale, the SIU Salukis fell victim to the No. 9 North Dakota Fighting Hawks, 38-19.

The Hawks exploded in the first half to go up 28-0, ultimately running up 311 yards rushing against SIU. Sawyer Seidl led the way with 108 yards on 14 carries and three touchdowns.

For the Salukis, DJ Williams was 29/46 for 258 yards, with one touchdown and an interception. Williams added a rushing touchdown.

The Fighting Hawks improved to 5-2 overall. The Salukis are now 4-3, with back-to-back losses, albeit to the No. 1 and No. 9 teams in the nation.
