GRAND FORKS — The UND men’s basketball team opened the 2025-26 season with an exhibition game against Jamestown at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center Saturday afternoon.

The Fighting Hawks started slow but picked up pace as the game wound on. They took control late in the first half and cruised in the second for an 82-61 win.

It was the first of two exhibition games on UND’s schedule. Next week, the Hawks will head to Minnesota. The regular season starts Nov. 3 with a road trip to Alabama.

Key absences

UND was without three key contributing players on Saturday due to injury.

Senior guard Eli King was the biggest absence.

He’s the Hawks’ only returning starter, averaging 8.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game
