Fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi, jailed in the UK for over six years, has hinted at “sensational developments” in his long-running extradition battle to India when the case reopens in London next month.
The 54-year-old fugitive diamantaire, wanted in India in connection with the USD 2 billion Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud and money laundering case, made the remark during a separate civil hearing at London’s Royal Courts of Justice over an unpaid Bank of India debt of more than USD 8 million.
“They (Bank of India) refer to my extradition I’m still here. There will be some sensational developments, and I have never used these words before,” Nirav told the court during the hearing.
