GARY, Ind. — The Lake County Prosecutor's Office has formally charged four people following an investigation into the death of a man and attempted murder of a teenager Friday in Gary .

According to a Facebook post from the Gary Police Department , on Oct. 17 officers were called to the 300 block of Clark Road on a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found 19-year-old Jace Smith had been shot.

Smith was taken to Northlake Methodist Hospital where he later died. The Lake County coroner ruled his death a homicide.
