MISSOULA — The Montana football team raced out to a 22-0 lead in the first quarter and held off Sacred Heart in the second half to remain undefeated.
The fourth-ranked Grizzlies scored a 43-21 win over the Pioneers to improve to 7-0 overall. They'll return to Big Sky Conference action next week when they take their 3-0 league record to Sacramento State.
Quarterback Keali'i Ah Yat completed 27 of 33 pass attempts for 349 yards and a career-high five touchdowns with no interceptions. He also ran five times for 19 yards and one score, giving him a personal-best six touchdowns.
Receiver Michael Wortham hauled in seven receptions for 132 yards and two touchdowns, all team highs. Receivers Drew Deck and Korbin Hendrix and running back Eli Gillman each caught one touchdown pass apiece.
