DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - You've heard us talk about how bad we need rainfall over the past two months. Well, here it is!
We finally received beneficial rainfall across most hometown communities, but the heaviest rainfall was seen along I-70 where Doppler Radar estimates over 2 inches of rain!
So how does this rain impact the drought monitor for next week? Well, it's nothing but good news.
Across Central Illinois you can expect to see next week's drought monitor show major improvements, especially for areas along and near the I-70 corridor.
Not everyone will be cleared from the drought, but Saturday's rainfall will improve conditions drastically for most hometowns.
