LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Rienk Mast, in his first game after missing the 2024-25 season due to knee surgery, poured in 31 points on 7-of-8 three-point shooting to lead Nebraska past eighth-ranked BYU at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Mast opened the game aggressively, making each of first five shots from beyond the arc. The senior forward continued to impress, drawing praise from Cougars head coach Kevin Young.

“Draft him first right now,” Young said of Mast, who out-dueled projected #1 NBA Draft Pick AJ Dybantsa. BYU’s phenom finished with 30 points in the game.

The Huskers held on for a 90-89 win in front of a sold-out crowd at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The game was an exhibition and the first contest in a home-and-home series between the schools. The Huskers are scheduled to go to Provo in 2026.
