Fifteen local high school marching bands qualified for the Indiana State School Music Association's semistate round with their performances Saturday in the regionals.
It was the first step of the ISSMA journey to the Nov. 8 state finals at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis. The semistate round takes place Nov. 1 at four different Indianapolis-area high schools.
Bands are divided by school enrollment size, with the biggest schools in Class A and the smallest in Class D, with those in between in classes B and C.
