BOISE, Idaho — Protesters returned to the steps of the Idaho State Capitol on Saturday as thousands gathered for “No Kings 2.0,” a demonstration organized locally by Idaho 5051, the state chapter of a nationwide movement demanding constitutional integrity and government accountability.
The rally, which took over parts of downtown Boise, was the second official “No Kings” event in Idaho this year. Organizers say their message is clear: democracy belongs to the people, not to politicians.
“When we look at what's happening at both the executive and legislative branches here in Idaho, we see constitutional freedoms slowly being eroded,” said Pine Irwin, a core leader of Idaho 5051. “Power is being consolidated at the top, and that’s not what a democracy should be.”
