CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago Teachers Union President Stacy Davis Gates has been chosen to lead the Illinois Federation of Teachers, the union announced Saturday.

She was elected today as part of a new leadership slate for the organization. Gates says the new slate represents every aspect of the state, every part of a students' educational journey.

Davis Gates has served as CTU president since 2022 and has been the executive vice president for IFT.
