Q. I am interested in an electric car and the Tesla Model 3 looks good, but somehow Elon and politics are entering into my decision to buy or lease a Tesla. I am generally not political, but it may be a good car, but I am having an emotional issue. What would you buy?

A. When it comes to electric cars/vehicles even though I do not generally recommend leasing, I would lease an electric car. The reason is the technology is changing rapidly. There is emerging technology that promises faster recharging and 500–800-mile range. Today if I were to lease an EV it would be hard to beat the Hyundai Ionic 6. The last one I evaluated had a 300-mile range, was comfortable, quick, and handled well.
