According to reports, the infant suddenly developed severe respiratory distress and became unresponsive during the journey. As panic spread through the coach, the baby’s mother fainted, believing her child had died.
Amid the chaos, Sepoy Sunil, who was returning to his base from leave, immediately stepped in to help. Assessing the situation, he found that the infant had no pulse and was not breathing. Acting swiftly, he laid the baby on a flat surface and performed paediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) using two fingers on the chest, followed by mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
