The Indianapolis Colts (5-1) take a trip to the West Coast to visit the LA Chargers (4-2) Sunday. Kickoff from SoFi Stadium is set for 4:05 p.m. ET (CBS). Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's NFL odds around the Colts vs. Chargers odds and make our expert NFL picks and predictions for the best bets.

Indianapolis picked up a 31-27 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6, but failed to cover as a 10-point favorite as the Over (46) was smashed. The Colts allowed 400 total yards and 25 first downs while also allowing the Cards to go 9-of-14 on third down, but their offense yet again showed up to save the day as the Colts scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to win the game. The Colts have put up at least 30 in all of their last 3 wins.

Los Angeles escaped with a 29-27 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 6 while failing to cover as a 4-point favorite with the Over (43) hitting. The Chargers' 2-for-7 outing in the red zone coupled with their 7 penalties made the game tougher to win, but they were able to force 3 turnovers and secure the victory. The win ended a 2-game skid for the Chargers.

The Chargers won the last meeting 20-3 in 2022 and lead the all-time series 20-11.

I lean toward the Colts to pick up the win as +110 underdogs, but feel more secure with the points. But at plus-money it's certainly worth considering a wager backing Indy for both the ML and spread bets.

Against the spread

BET COLTS +2 (-110).

The Colts are a dominant offensive team as they rank top 5 in the NFL in total yards and passing yards per game while being sixth in rushing yards per game in first in points per game (32.4). Furthermore, the Colts are one of the best turnover differential teams in the NFL with a +9 while LA has just a -1, so look for Indy to find some success offensively off of turnovers. Indy is only mediocre defensively while LA is solid on that side of the ball, but the Chargers have shown nothing recently to make anyone feel confident they are better than Indianapolis as things stand.

Over/Under

OVER 48.5 (-110).

The Colts average 32.3 points and they allow 19.3 PPG, and allowed 20-plus points to opponents like Arizona and the Tennessee Titans. On the other side, the Chargers put up 21.2 PPG, but allowed 21-plus points to the Washington Commanders and the New York Giants in back-to-back weeks.

These are both good offenses while both squads have holes defensively, making the Over the play here although the Under has been a safer bet for both teams this season.
