Kobbie Mainoo is enduring the toughest spell of his young career to date. Manchester United's promising 20-year-old looked like the next big thing less than 12 months ago having shone for England at Euro 2024 .

But under Ruben Amorim , Mainoo has fallen badly out of favour. The versatile midfield player is yet to start a Premier League fixture this season and has been restricted to just five substitute appearances and a grand total of 113 minutes.

This was anticipated; Mainoo sought a loan move away this summer but his wish was not granted, despite interest from the likes of Napoli and Real Madrid.
