A coastal flood statement was issued by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 2:51 a.m. valid for Monday between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. for Queens as well as Suffolk and Nassau counties.
The weather service says to prepare for, "Up to 1/2 ft of inundation above ground level in the most vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline."
"Brief minor flooding of the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline," comments the weather service. "Do not drive through flooded roadways."
