Some cricket fans always believed that Mitchell Starc would one day break Shoaib Akhtar’s record for the fastest ball in international cricket — the 161.3 kph (100.23 mph) rocket against England’s Nick Knight in the 2003 World Cup. However, no one would have anticipated he’d surpass it by over 15 kph (!) of speed, just like the broadcast graphic seemed to show during Sunday’s clash between India and Australia in Perth.
