The progressive wing of the delegation is in panic mode, the Herald is told, now that Salem Rep. Seth Moulton has entered the U.S. Senate race against incumbent Sen. Ed Markey.

Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, a Squad member, needs to make her move or risk losing the liberal high ground. That’s the burning question the Boston rep is now facing, probably daily.

Is this her time? Can she betray Markey while challenging Moulton? We asked her team for a comment, but so far crickets.

Markey should not be underestimated. We’ve seen him in action, and he’s a young 79 years old. But Moulton, who is 46, is going to use age as a wedge issue.

Pressley, 51, won’t have that baggage if she runs for Senate, but time is not on her side.
