Many times when I was looking for something, Mr. Florman pointed out it was right in front of me and said, “If it was a snake, it would have bit you.”

When I couldn’t find something, he would hand me the exact same thing that I was looking for and say, “Here, try this instead.”

Pharmacist Nat Florman owned the Stanton Negley Drugstore, which finally closed on August 30 after decades of business. (He eventually sold it to Meyer Simon, the last owner.)
