PITTSFIELD, Maine (WABI) - The power of community was on full display in Pittsfield yesterday as more than 100 people turned out for Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital’s annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk.
The 31st annual event drew survivors, friends and families, as well as local businesses and hospital staff.
The goal is to raise awareness about the importance of breast cancer screening mammograms.
More than $10,000 was raised at the event.
Those funds will be used for mammograms, equipment, and other service needs to enhance care provided at Northern Light Women’s Health in Pittsfield.
“We’re so grateful for everyone who joined us for this community tradition—from longtime supporters to first-time participants,” says Jen Castonguay, director of Ancillary Services at Sebas
