White supremacy and the 'We’ll never go to Parkland' promise

This month, Hate Out of Winston invited each Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school board member to a town hall concerning our multimillion-dollar deficit (see Miranda Jones’ Oct. 10 op-ed for context). WSFCS board member Steve Wood met this invitation with a white North Carolinian tradition of forgetting our role in public education’s rampant inequities.
