TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. (WFLA) — The Tarpon Springs Police Department said three people were hospitalized after separate crashes on US-19 that happened Saturday.

The first happened at around 3:40 p.m. at the intersection of US-19 and Lime St. between a car and a bicyclist.

A 23-year-old woman was riding an E-bike, crossing Lime St. using a marked crosswalk. As she was crossing, she was struck by a Chrysler minivan driven by 65-year-old John Vargas.

The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The crash is still under investigation, but police said they don't believe impairment played a role.
