Councilor Mallo is not the right person for Ward 4.
On a change.org petition, 2,863 residents (only 1,526 people completed the 2024 Loveland Survey) cited many reasons why the proposed regional shelter should not be placed across the street from hundreds of homes. The planning commission cited many reasons when they voted 7 to 1 not to approve the church location.
Councilor Mallo doesn’t appear to have paid attention to any of those reasons. In the Oct. 8 Reporter-Herald Mallo said, “the biggest barrier to establishing a homelessness response is “the NIMBY response.”
I don’t want a councilor who ignores planning commission and citizen concerns and dismisses them all by calling them NIMBYs.
