Bihar Elections 2025: With no clarity yet on the seat-sharing of the Mahagathbandhan alliance of the opposition parties, the Congress on Wednesday announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections .

As October 17 deadline for filing nominations for the first phase neared, the grand-old party raced to end the suspense on its candidates. Party sources said, reported Indian Express, a panel headed by senior leader Ajay Maken met on Wednesday and approved names for eight constituencies, while keeping nine seats on a “pending list” due to unresolved decisions, the report added,

As many as 53 names were cleared by the party’s Central Election Committee, the IE report mentioned.
