Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel lobbed pointed questions toward state officials as administrators submitted two bids – one solo and one in partnership with Oakland County – to Lansing to provide behavioral health and intellectual/developmental disabilities services for Medicaid and Healthy Michigan enrollees.
The bids were submitted by the Monday deadline after the state Department of Health and Human Services announced a few months ago it was outsourcing the services for the Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan, surprising and drawing opposition from county officials and others across the state who operate the agencies, many of which have been in existence for decades.
The services are currently provided here by Macomb County Community Mental Health, which is funded by the federal dollars
