JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman is recovering from injuries following a shooting in Downtown Jacksonville.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says this happened around 11:40 p.m. Saturday in the area of West Bay Street, where officers found a woman with a gunshot wound to her leg.

Investigators believe she was approached on foot by a group of unknown people and at least one person among them fired the shot.

The woman was taken to a hospital and is said to have non-life-threatening injuries.
