KOLLAM: CPI members resigned en masse in Kollam, Kadayakkal. 112 people holding various positions left the party. The unexpected incident took place in Minister J Chinju Rani's Chadayamandalam constituency. Ten mandal committee members, 45 local committee members, 48 branch secretaries, and nine block-grama panchayat members resigned.

The resignation was announced by calling a press conference to express dissatisfaction with the district leadership. The leaders said that more than 700 party members have resigned.
