AUBURN — The script has been the same for Auburn football since the first SEC game against Oklahoma back on Sept. 20. Auburn 's defense plays well enough for the Tigers to have a chance, but the offense can't sustain success or come up in the clutch.

That played true once again in Auburn's 23-17 double overtime loss to No. 16 Missouri Saturday, Oct. 18 at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Auburn won the turnover battle and its defense forced four consecutive punts in the second half. Sure, it's a unit that surrendered over 343 yards of total offense, but out of 13 Missouri drives, only four yielded any points. There are only so many opportunities that defense can give its offense before it bends.
