A Campbell County School District bus driver was given a certificate of appreciation from the district to recognize her extraordinary efforts to save the life of a car crash victim earlier this month.

Bus driver Julie Parker was in Wright on Oct. 1 when she performed CPR on the crash victim. The crash happened to occur near the gas station where Parker and a fellow bus driver, Deb Christopherson , were re-fueling after finishing their routes early.

“(The certificate) was just to celebrate her selfless act and to tell her that she was appreciated and what she had done was above and beyond and it didn’t go unnoticed, that she was able to perform that selfless act,” said Scott Neal, the district’s transportation supervisor. “I wanted to be sure she was recognized for going above and bey
