Our elected officials are delusional to think that their cognitive and physical impairments do not limit their ability to effectively do their jobs.

For instance, U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi often appears confused and needs assistance from another person whenever she walks.

U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell also often seems confused and continues to fall inside the U.S. Capitol building.

U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, the Senate president pro tempore and another member of Congress with a confused look about him, is 92 years old and may seek another term.

And President Donald Trump? He has trouble staying awake and rambles incoherently whenever he speaks ( “‘Arc de Trump’ revealed as the president’s latest ‘America 250’ project,” Oct. 16).
