Late last week, President Donald Trump took to social media to hit out at a Kentucky representative in Congress.

While the source of the President's ire is typically directed at Rep. Thomas Massie, this time it was directed at Senator Rand Paul, who has voted against Republican-proposed bills to reopen the government as the shutdown enters its fourth week. Advertisement

"Whatever happened to 'Senator' Rand Paul?" the president posted to Truth Social, the social media platform he founded. "He was never great, but he went really BAD! I got him elected, TWICE...but he just never votes positively for the Republican Party."

While Paul has won re-election in both 2016 and 2022, with Trump as the leader in the Republican Party, Paul was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2010.
