In a reversal of trend seen over the past year, large sized banks have reported robust growth in their corporate loan portfolio during Q2FY26, senior bankers say.
Subrat Mohanty, ED at Axis Bank, said while the lender was cautious on pricing of corporate loans, there have been certain lending opportunities in Q2 and the bank continues to see those opportunities moving forward.
“In Q2, there were few good opportunities that came our way that we had not seen in the past, therefore the growth figure looks a bit inflated but in general we find that there is opportunity in the wholesale segment for us based on strong relationships and trends we are seeing in certain sectors where there is movement from clients in terms of making new investments.”
