Srinagar ~ The Indian delegation led by J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha departed from Elista, Republic of Kalmykia, Russia, on Sunday, bringing back the holy relics of Lord Buddha, recognised as a National Treasure of India.
The relics had been on a week-long exposition from October 11 to 18, 2025, organised by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), the National Museum, and the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA). The event aimed to celebrate the shared Buddhist heritage and strengthen people-to-people ties between India and Kalmykia.
