: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday unveiled a comprehensive 10-point initiative to immortalise the legacy of the late music icon Zubeen Garg, describing the move as both a tribute and a commitment to justice.
“Our aim is to ensure justice and to preserve Zubeen Garg’s immense cultural contributions,” Sarma said while addressing reporters. “The initiative is meant to honour Zubeen Garg’s indomitable spirit and to ensure that the legal system delivers justice swiftly.”
Among the measures announced are the installation of a statue in Zubeen’s memory and the establishment of a music college bearing his name. “These steps are not merely symbolic—they represent Assam’s collective love, admiration, and eternal respect for Zubeen Da,” the Chief Minister added.
