U.S. Sen. Rand Paul brushed off President Donald Trump calling him a "nasty liddle' guy" on social media when he was asked about the comments in a TV interview Oct. 19.

On NBC's "Meet the Press with Kristen Welker," the Kentucky Republican responded to a post Trump made about him on Truth Social Oct. 17, in which the president wrote Paul "was never great, but he went really BAD!"

Paul said he doesn't take Trump's criticism "too seriously."

"I think he's one of the best presidents, if not the best president of my lifetime," he said. "But it doesn't mean I will sit quietly and say, 'Oh well, whatever you want to do.'"
