HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- 120 Special Olympics bowlers will visit Owensboro during the Special Olympics Kentucky Area 2 Bowling Tournament.

According to officials, the tournament will take place at Diamond Lanes South on October 26 at 1:20 p.m. The tournament will include Special Olympics athletes from Daviess, Grayson, Hancock, Henderson, Hopkins, McLean, Ohio and Webster Counties.

Athletes who finish first or second in their division will qualify to compete in the Special Olympics Kentucky State Bowling Tournament on December 6 and December 7 in Louisville.

Officials say the State Bowling Tournament is annually the largest individual sport competition on the Special Olympics Kentucky calendar and brings 1,300 athletes to Kentucky.
