LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Two men have been arrested for a shooting that happened in a Fern Creek apartment complex.

Louisville Metro Police have arrested Darrel R. Burnett and Kiaira M. Paige. Burnett has been charged with murder and Paige, the co-defendant, was charged with 2nd degree assault.

Police say the shooting happened just before 3 a.m. Sunday morning in the 100 block of Brentlinger Park Drive . When officers arrived they found a man who had been shot in the head and right leg.

The man was transported to University Hospital by EMS where he died from his injuries.

After being detained, Paige gave a statement admitting to a physical altercation with the victim prior to shooting him in the leg.
