(WNDU) - The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Indiana Hoosiers both moved up one spot in the latest Associated Press Top 25 college football poll .

The Irish (5-2) moved from No. 13 to No. 12 after beating No. 20 USC while the Hoosiers (7-0) moved up from No. 3 to No. 2 after picking up a win over Michigan State .

Indiana improved its program-record ranking by one spot and received six first-place votes.

As for other regional teams in the poll, Michigan is back in the Top 25 at No. 25 after beating Washington.

There was a lot of shakeup in this week’s poll after nine ranked teams suffered losses , including four in the top 10.

NEWCOMERS : Louisville (No. 19), Illinois (No. 23), Arizona State (No. 24) and Michigan (No. 25)

DROPPED OUT : USC (No. 20), Memphis (No. 22), Uta
