The first half of the New York Jets game against the Carolina Panthers is in the books, and the Jets are trailing the Panthers, 10 – 3.

The game opened with the Jets on offense. A nice kickoff return got the Jets great field position on their own 45 yard line to start the game. The Jets got the ball into field goal range before going for it and failing on a fourth and five, turning the ball over on downs and squandering an early scoring opportunity.

The Panthers got the ball and quickly went down the field before settling for a short field goal and an early 3 – 0 Panthers lead.

The first quarter ended with the score still 3 – 0 and the Panthers driving near midfield. The Panthers went for it on fourth and 1 and the Jets defense stonewalled them.
