A two-term Fayetteville City Council member asking voters for another term in her District 7 seat is facing a challenge from a first-time political candidate.

Incumbent Brenda McNair will face Kathy A. Greggs in the general election Nov. 4 after the two women were the top vote-getters in the Oct. 7 primary . McNair led the five-person race with 75.39% of the vote to Greggs' 15.2%. Behind them were J'Kwan Fulmore with 4.45%, Dwight France with 3.41% and Khalil Younger with 1.56%.
