The sounds of laughter, polka, and the clinking of beer steins filled the Germania Club Hall on Bennett Street Saturday, Oct. 18, as the Germania Club of Pembroke hosted its annual Oktoberfest celebration. Doors opened at 2 p.m., with the official opening ceremonies at 2:30 p.m. Miss Oktoberfest 2025, Amber Kuehl, was announced during the opening and she joined Pembroke Mayor Ron Gervais to tap the keg. Joining in the opening ceremonies were dignitaries including Laurentian Valley Mayor Steve Bennett, MP Cheryl Gallant, MPP Billy Denault, and several former Miss Oktoberfests. Article content
