New Delhi, Oct 19: The Indian Delegation led by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, departed Elista, Republic of Kalmykia, Russia today with the holy relics of Lord Buddha. The holy relics, recognised as a National Treasure of India, were brought to Kalmykia for a week-long exposition from October 11 to 18. The exposition aimed to strengthen people-to-people ties and celebrate shared Buddhist heritage was organised by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), the National Museum, and the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA).
