Defenseman Tyler Myers recorded a goal and an assist and the Vancouver Canucks hung on for a 4-3 win over the host Washington Capitals on Sunday.
Elias Pettersson, Kiefer Sherwood and Teddy Blueger also scored for the Canucks. Conor Garland added a pair of assists and Thatcher Demko made 28 saves.
Ryan Leonard and defensemen Jakob Chychrun and John Carlson got the goals for the Capitals, who had their four-game winning streak snapped. Tom Wilson and Dylan Strome each had two assists and Charlie Lindgren stopped 20 shots.
Carlson's goal made the deficit one with 2:14 left. He scored on a slap shot from the point in the middle of the ice with Lindgren pulled for the extra attacker. It was the veteran blue-liner's first goal of the season.
