A Hixson Powerball player has won $50,000, the Tennessee Lottery says.

Although they say there were thousands of "winners" across the state this weekend, two people matched four numbers plus the Powerball to earn $50,000 each. The other person was in Knoxville.

The local player bought the winning ticket at the Food City on Hixson Pike in Chattanooga.

No additional information will be available until the prizes are claimed.
