A man was subdued by those attending a No Kings rally in Kent after he was seen shoving a woman. The man, who reportedly had a gun, was later arrested and taken into custody by Kent police.
Jeff Clapper, who represents Ward 6 on Kent City Council, said that he had just arrived at the protest when he saw the man, whose identity is not known, shove a woman in the back.
"I have no idea what led up to it," Clapper said. "But I wasn't going to let it stand. So I grabbed him and forced him to the ground. Then I heard he had a gun, so we restrained them."
The Kent police responded to the incident, which happened near the Zephyr Pub on West Main Street, Clapper said. Beacon Journal staff reached out to Kent police for comment.
Clapper said that he had heard the arrested man was a Trump suppo
