ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A man was wounded in a shooting in southwest Atlanta on Saturday night, according to police.

Around 9:11 p.m., Atlanta police said they responded to a person shot near the 900 block of Mayson Turner Road NW in the Washington Park neighborhood.

Officers reportedly found a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound. The victim was alert, conscious and breathing when he was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Investigators found that the victim may have been shot during a drug deal near the 300 block of McDaniel Street SW before he took himself to a home on Mayson Turner Road.

Police have not announced suspects.

Hours later, an unhoused man was shot along McDaniel Street, according to police.
